Lupe Fiasco - What U Want

A few things about this tune:

- This is an unfinished version (sounds finished to me though)

- It is on Lasers

- It's worth a listen or two

Lupe Fiasco vs. KRS-One + Lebron vs. Kobe

As a militant Lebron James and Lupe Fiasco fan, this commercial really speaks to me. Also, Blitzen was always my favorite reindeer, and Kobe's a giant douche. And KRS as Santa is just priceless. Way to exploit hip-hop and holiday cheer Nike!

I can't wait for that Cavs/Lakers game on Christmas.

Go Cavs!!! Happy Holidaze snitches!

Yes people, you will want this.

Lu's also got another tape dropping on Christmas! Now Christmas is already a pretty good day cause I can get drunk in the morning, but this year we've not only got a couple of NBA games (Lebron vs. Kobe) but now we have a mixtape to look forward too!

Lupe Fiasco - Solar Midnite (from the New Moon soundtrack)

Even though this song blows, I really respect Lupe's hustle.

Not only has he provided the hip-hop community with classic mixtapes and albums, but he's also managed to make what I assume is a very decent living off of his more mainstream tunes. I wonder what the publishing cheque looked like when he licensed "Superstar" to NBC's 2008 Olympic coverage?

Anyways, Lupe teamed up with the Twilight people and recorded a song for the New Moon soundtrack after getting a private screening of the new film. I've never seen Twilight, and from what I've heard it involves no sex and no violence. I'll stick to True Blood for my vampire fiction.

I can't be mad at this however, because it ensures that Lu will get that cheddar and has all the comfort he needs to record album after album of high quality hip-hop.

On a different note, Lupe not only wrote the tune, but he produced it himself.

It shows.

What I mean by that is that Lupe has a secret desire to be a rock star (just check out his side project Japanese Cartoon) and that desire is definitely reflected in this song's sound and structure. As for rappers turned rockers: Lupe needs to practice, but he's far from the worst.

Check out the song.

Lupe Fiasco's Trilly & Truly

I'm not gonna lie: I think this Trilly and Truly shit is dope and I want some of it. However, that fake-ass British accent having mod/glam bastardization of a punk band "Japanese Cartoon" shit is weak.

So, how do I gets these tees for less than fifty bees?
