
Don't you love it when cultural (and not military) history repeats itself?
Think about it: Jay Electronica (pictured above) is an incredibly talented artist from New Orleans who has definitely found his home (at least sonically) in New York. Doesn't that sound a bit like the great sonic migration of jazz musicians from the South to Harlem back in the twentieth century? Those were the days.
Oh, and for those of you who think that a Jay Electronica-Louis Armstrong comparison is more than just a bit sacrilegious; relax. I'm just happy that another Southern artist has mixed up his style with the New York sound.
We all win when worlds collide.
Anyways, ignore my bastardization of history and get this mixtape.
